Historian

Mecca Shabazz graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May 2022. As a student at the College of Law, Mecca was involved in the Black Law Student Association (BLSA), American Inns of Court, and the Tennessee Alliance of Black Lawyers (TABL). Since graduating, she has become licensed to practice law in Tennessee. Mecca started working at the Public Defender’s office in Nashville in September of 2022, and she hopes to continue to provide zealous representation and work on her trial skills in the future.
